In Viana do Castelo, Abílio Manuel Guerra Junqueiro married, lived and worked between 1879 and 1890; he was Secretary General of the Civil Government of Viana do Castelo; he wrote The Tear; The Little Moleirinha; The Hunter Simão; he corresponded with Eça de Queiroz and Ramalho Ortigão; he was a friend of Luis Augusto de Oliveira and António Feijó.
